Generation Homes Opens In Jacksonville – New Company Will Bring ‘Growhome’ Concept To Northeast Florida.
JACKSONVILLE, FL—Generation Homes, led by President Cora Johnston, has launched operations in Northeast Florida. The new homebuilding company will introduce the “GrowHOME” concept to the area, an architectural design strategy that is preplanned and engineered for the future. The concept allows a family to grow with the home when they choose – today, tomorrow or for generations to come. Each floor plan in the GrowHOME series has been thoughtfully designed to be functional and aesthetically pleasing before and after a GROW addition.
“The idea behind our GrowHOME series is that your home can change with you. A home becomes part of us and our family. We believe that people want to have a real place to call home – one that reflects their life, their personality and their future,” Johnston said. “We build each GrowHOME with the ability to add on a second story, an additional bedroom, bathroom, an office or a game room at any time in the future.”
For instance, if a young couple has a child and the three-bedroom home they first buy is no longer large enough, they can easily transform their GrowHOME to include a nursery, bedroom, bathroom or teen suite. For those who choose to work from home, they have the option to grow the home by adding a personal office. Families who have parents or grandparents moving in can expand with an in-law suite or guest home. Sports enthusiasts or crafty types can grow a hobby, game or sports entertainment room.
After more than 20 years working in the homebuilding industry, Johnston developed the idea for Generation Homes and its GrowHOME series along with Tony Weremeichik, Principal of Architectural Design Canin Associations in Orlando. Together, they developed the idea of GrowHOMES to serve as a catalyst for new housing trends in today’s economic climate and into the future. The new series was designed to be stylish, energy efficient with the use of green building products, and architecturally unique with comfortably sized rooms, pedestrian walkways and plenty of natural light. Johnston’s inspiration for the new endeavor originated from the idea that we live in a world of customization and a home should be no exception. Johnston has made the GrowHOME series financially attainable with prices starting under $200,000.
“Everything in our lives is customized, from our iPhones to laptops and Facebook pages to Twitter accounts, and our homes should be no different,” Johnston said. “GrowHOME allows people to design and build a home that is tailored to their lifestyle and that will grow with their family.”
Generation Homes is building its GrowHOME series in the communities of Villa Ortega, The Retreat and on individual homesites throughout Northeast Florida.
