Generation Homes Featured in the Florida Times-Union
What an exciting week it has been for us here at Generation Homes. On Monday an incredible article about our company and our fabulous GrowHOMES came out in the Business section of the Florida Times-Union. Here is an excerpt:
Cora Johnston and Stuart McDonald say they don’t build houses – they create homes.
“We look at it differently,” McDonald said, sitting on a plush love seat in the open kitchen/dining room/living room area of a “Grow Home” model the pair built in Middleburg.
A Grow Home is a house meant to expand as the family living in it grows and changes, both with more members and more money.
The Austin model, which comes complete with oversized garage, three bedrooms, a “teen suite,” an IKEA-styled kitchen and master bathroom, is a house meant to expand with time.
The Austin originally stands at 1,765 square feet without any extra rooms. With all extra added rooms, including a relaxation room by the kitchen and living area, and a second-story “teen suite” with an extra bathroom, the house expands to 2,165 square feet.
The starting price for an Austin is $149,990. With all added expansions, transforming the house into a four-bedroom, three-bathroom living space, the house increases to $169,990.
“It is wonderfully affordable,” Johnston said.
